Friend of the Future: DuPont
Our friends at DuPont are one of the world's largest users of perfluorooctanoic acid, used to make Teflon, which is used to coat cookware, clothing, carpet, the metrodome, etc.. The best part about this carcinogen, is that it doesn't break down! It accumulates in our bodies and the bodies of animals forever, which is why now 95% of the human population has this chemical in their blood. DuPont has done an outstanding job at contributing to the rise in cancer rates globally.
This isn't the first time DuPont has done something good for the future. DuPont also invented chlorofluorocarbons, which helped create holes in the ozone layer. They would have been successful if only given a few more years to do their work. But legislation around the globe stopped CFC's in their tracks.
Keep up the good work DuPont!
